We have shifted into Scorpio Season, which runs from October 23 through November 22. Scorpio is associated with mystery, depth, and hidden truth. It also carries the energies of transformation and rebirth. Its energy turns your attention inward, drawing you into the inner chambers of your world.
During this time of year, the veil is thin. The boundaries between the physical and spiritual dimensions are easier to cross, strengthening ancestral connections and your awareness of the unseen world. This is a powerful time to honor your ancestors and connect with those who have crossed over. It can also deepen your awareness of the spiritual dimensions surrounding you.
The shadow is the unconscious side of the personality. It contains the qualities, emotions, desires, and experiences that you do not recognize or accept within yourself. Because the shadow exists outside your conscious awareness, you may not realize how these energies are affecting your reactions and choices. These unrecognized aspects remain active within the unconscious until they are brought into conscious awareness.
Projection is one way the shadow is revealed through other people. Projection happens when you see a quality in someone else without recognizing that it also exists within you. Other people can act as mirrors, allowing you to see aspects of yourself that have remained unconscious. A strong or repeated reaction to someone can point toward something within yourself that needs to be recognized. Shadow work brings your attention back to what the reaction is showing you so that you can work on these aspects and transmute them.
Scorpio Season can bring up the skeletons in your closet. Experiences that were never fully faced, emotions that were pushed down, and truths that were left unacknowledged may return to your awareness. Ghosts of the past may reappear through returning people, familiar situations, old memories, or unfinished matters that still require your attention. What comes forward can show you what still needs to be healed.
Scorpio Season is a powerful time for inner alchemy, the transformation of the self. Inner alchemy is a progressive process through which you refine your inner energy and become more conscious of how that energy affects you. It changes the energy connected to your emotions and experiences. During this process, vital energy is refined into spiritual energy.
This inner work changes the form and purpose of the energy you carry, allowing fragmented areas within you to begin coming together. As those areas become whole, you gain a clearer understanding of yourself, your energy, and what has been transformed. The spiritual energy created through this refinement can then be directed toward healing and personal transformation. This process of refining and transforming your inner energy is known as transmutation.
Scorpio’s connection to the Phoenix comes from their shared themes of regeneration, transformation, and rebirth. The Phoenix represents the stage in which the soul is resurrected, rising from the ashes. It represents more than recovering from a difficult experience. It represents a rebirth of the soul after the former cycle has been completed. The soul rises up from everything it has passed through, carrying the wisdom gained through the transformation into a new stage of its journey.
This is a death and rebirth process at the level of the soul. What has completed its purpose is left within the ashes, while the soul rises renewed. It is no longer bound to the state that existed before the transformation, and the soul does not return to its former state. Scorpio’s connection to the Phoenix represents the soul’s ability to pass through profound change and emerge renewed. It rises into a new one with greater spiritual awareness, strength, and understanding.
