Today and Tomorrow: The September Lyncid Meteor Shower Reaches Its Peak

Today and tomorrow, September 12th- 13th, the September Lyncid Meteor Shower reaches its peak.  This is one of September’s quieter Meteor Showers, producing approximately three to four meteors per hour under dark viewing conditions.  The lower meteor count creates a slower and more patient experience in which every sudden flash of light stands out against the darkness.

These are fast meteors, entering Earth’s atmosphere at approximately 59 kilometers, or nearly 37 miles, per second.

The shower’s radiant is located in the western portion of the Lynx constellation, close to the star 15 Lyncis.  The radiant is the area from which the meteors appear to emerge as Earth moves through the debris stream.  Meteors may appear anywhere across the sky, so there is no need to stare directly toward Lynx to see one.

The Lynx constellation carries a spiritual connection with deep sight, heightened perception, uncovering what has remained unseen and recognizing light that is easily overlooked.

The quiet, patient rhythm of the September Lyncids supports third-eye activation, intuition, spiritual vision and piercing the veil between the physical world and the higher dimensions.  These frequencies encourage us to become still enough to perceive information, guidance and subtle energies that may otherwise be overlooked.

Meteor Showers occur when Earth passes through streams of ancient Solar System material.  As these particles enter the atmosphere, they create sudden streaks of light.  Spiritually, these flashes may be worked with as Sparks of Divine Light carrying dormant light codes and cosmic information into Earth’s energetic grid.

During the peak, spend a few quiet moments beneath the night sky and visualize the fast-moving flashes illuminating your energy field.  Set an intention for the September Lyncid frequencies to awaken dormant spiritual abilities, heighten intuition, activate deeper sight and bring sudden mental clarity.  You do not have to physically see a meteor to tap into the energies surrounding Earth during the shower.

The thin crescent Moon creates favorable conditions for connecting with the darkness of the night sky.  This energy may be used for meditation, vivid dreaming, astral work, receiving cosmic downloads and opening spiritual communication with the higher dimensions.  Crystals such as Clear Quartz, Celestite, Herkimer Diamond, Moldavite or Libyan Desert Glass may also be placed on a windowsill or outside overnight with the intention of charging them beneath the September Lyncid frequencies.

Meteor Showers have also become closely connected with wishing and manifestation.  Write down an important intention or timeline shift you are ready to experience and speak it beneath the night sky.  Instead of treating it as a passive wish, allow it to become a conscious declaration of the direction in which you are ready to move.

The September Lyncids may be quiet, but their energy is precise.  They remind us that light does not have to be constant or overwhelming to capture our attention.  Sometimes one brilliant flash within the darkness is enough to awaken our sight, activate new awareness and illuminate a possibility that had previously remained unseen.
